Dr. Ramón Fernández Cervantes is Professor of the Department of Physiotherapy, Medicine and Cc. Biomedical, from the Faculty of Physiotherapy of the University of A Coruña.
He develops his teaching and research activity linked to this University, from 1990 to the present. Previously, he worked as a physiotherapist for the National Health System, linked to the field of Primary Health Care, where he made a substantial contribution to the regulatory development that made it possible to incorporate the figure of the physiotherapist at this level of health care.
He has held important positions in the field of university management, being Director/Dean of the Faculty of Physiotherapy at the University of A Coruña (1995-2017), advisor to the University of Vigo for the implementation of the Diploma in Physiotherapy (1995-1996), coordinator of the Master's Degree "Management and Research in Disability and Dependency" (2006-2011) and president of the National Conference of Directors and Deans of Physiotherapy (2000-2003). In 2003, he is a member of the Support Team for the Project Coordinator for the Design of the Curriculum and Degree in Physiotherapy - ANECA.
From the associative point of view, he chaired the Spanish Association of Physiotherapists in the periods 1990-1998 and 2003-2008.
